You’ve had the ceremony, the speeches, the long night. Now you’re on the island, still getting used to the ring — and you want photos where you’re not rushing between guests.
That’s what a post-wedding session is for. Just the two of you, the dress or suit one more time, and Gran Canaria’s evening light. No schedule, no relatives waiting.
I’ve photographed newlyweds here since 2015. Some come straight from a ceremony on the island, some come weeks later on their honeymoon, and some come back for their 25th or 50th anniversary.
What a Post-Wedding Session Looks Like
We meet about 90 minutes before sunset. The light is low and warm by then, and the heat of the day is gone — which matters when you’re in a long dress on sand.
I don’t hand you a list of poses. I’ll tell you where to stand and where the light is best, then give you something simple to do: walk, turn toward each other, fix his collar, laugh at whatever just happened. The best frames usually come from the moments in between.
You get 150+ edited photos, delivered within 4 working days. Sessions for two start at €250 for 90 minutes. All packages are on the price page. You pay after the shoot, not before. Price page.
Where a Wedding Dress Looks Best in Gran Canaria
A long dress and a suit change everything about a location — how the fabric moves, what the wind does, where you can walk. These are the places I choose most often for newlyweds.
Maspalomas Dunes
A white dress against golden sand, with the train trailing behind you on a ridge — few places do that better. I plan the route so we don’t climb far in formal shoes, and we go in the last hour of light when the sand turns warm.
Anfi del Mar
Calm, shallow turquoise water. If you’re brave enough to step in with the dress, this is the place — the fabric floats and the light reflects off the white sand. Late afternoon is best, when the beach empties.
El Confital, Las Palmas
Black volcanic rock, crashing waves and one of the best sunsets on the island. It’s dramatic and windy — great for a veil, and a strong contrast to a white dress.
Vegueta and Arucas
Cobblestone streets, old doors, stone churches and fountains. In Vegueta, the old town of Las Palmas, and in Arucas with its huge stone church, a suit and dress look elegant rather than beachy — and it works even on a cloudy day.
Puerto de Mogán
Whitewashed houses, bougainvillaea and little bridges over the canals. Soft and colourful — good for a lighter, summery look. Staying at a hotel with gardens — Lopesan, Paradisus, Santa Catalina? We can start there and finish at the beach.
Not Comfortable in Front of the Camera?
Most couples tell me this in the first five minutes. Almost none of them still feel that way after twenty.
I’ll guide you through everything: where to look, what to do with your hands, and how close to stand. When I can, I like to meet you before the session or do a short test shoot, so by the time we start, you already know me.
“During the photoshoot he guided us with posing, movement and where to look, which was very helpful because we are not used to being in front of the camera.”

Married at Home, Honeymoon in Gran Canaria
Maybe your ceremony was in Helsinki, Manchester or Prague, in November rain. A honeymoon session here gives you what the weather back home didn’t — warm sand, ocean and Atlantic light.
You don’t need to bring the dress. Many couples shoot in light, simple clothes instead. Not married yet, or just want photos of the two of you? See my couple photoshoot page.
Wedding Day Coverage, Hair and Makeup
If you’re getting married on the island, I can also photograph the day itself — getting ready, the ceremony and the celebration, documentary style. That kind of day needs full attention from start to finish, so I plan it carefully with you beforehand.
I work with local hair and makeup artists and can arrange them for your session. I live in Gran Canaria, but I also travel to Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro.
If you’d like to plan your session, send me a message on WhatsApp — we’ll pick the right place and time together.
FAQ: Post-Wedding Photos in Gran Canaria
How much does a post-wedding photoshoot cost in Gran Canaria?
A session for two starts at 250 €. That includes 90 minutes at one location and 150+ edited photos, delivered within 4 working days. Extra locations are 125 € each, and you pay after the shoot.
What’s the best time of day for wedding photos?
The last 90 minutes before sunset. The light is warm and soft, and it’s cooler on the sand. Sunrise also works at Maspalomas if you want the dunes almost empty.
Can I wear my wedding dress on the beach or in the dunes?
Yes — most brides do. Dry sand brushes off easily. Bring flat shoes for the walk and change at the spot.
How far in advance should we book?
Two to four weeks ahead is usually enough. For December, Easter and summer weekends, book as soon as your travel dates are fixed.
Do you photograph weddings on other Canary Islands?
Yes. I’m based in Gran Canaria but travel to Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and the other islands. Travel costs are agreed separately.
See you soon in Gran Canaria. — Slavik
